Training on Experimental design and multifactorial ANOVA

Date:

Tuesday, January 13, 2015 to Friday, January 16, 2015

Venue:

University of Dar Es Salaam, Zanzibar

The second FISHERMAN training was held in Zanzibar and hosted by the University of Dar Es Salaam from the 13th to the 16th of January 2015 and delivered by Prof. Jose Jacobo Zubcoff (Head of the Marine Sciences and Applied Biology Dept.) and Prof. Aitor Forcada (Marine Sciences and Applied Biology Dept.), from the University of Alicante.

During the three days, participants had the possibility to learn how to build a correct experimental design with several factors,, acquire the statistical knowledge to analyse the data with ANOVA and apply the knowledge learned in a real world case using the statistical software R.

As a result, participants are able to identify the different variables and factors that need to be considered when working on a real case study, build the optimal experimental design to test the scientific hypothesis and properly manage the statistical software R to perform data analysis.

The training was followed by a coordination meeting focused on setting up the basis for the project next 6 months action plan.
